The Ties Program is delighted to return to Guatemala, Chile, and Paraguay in 2010.
We encourage you to contact Bea Evans if your family is interested in learning more.
Space is limited and filling quickly.
"I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world."
That one statement captures the entire essence of The Ties Program.
It is an extraordinary journey that will add new dimension to your child's identity and give profound depth to your family's life experience of adoption.
We understand how important and exciting this trip is for your family.
In the many years we have done Ties programs around the world we have seen how beneficial it is for children to share this journey in community with other children.
At the same time, we pride ourselves in making your family's experience a personal one.
You will have all the benefits of traveling with a group—a "community" of families with similar life experiences.
And, we will tailor the journey so that you and your family reconnect with people and places important in your child's life.
In addition to seeing the sights of your child's country of birth, you'll meet people with whom your child shares a common heritage.
The messages these experiences and encounters provide are pivotal to your child's identity development.
At the center of the journey are memories of when you became a family.
Family stories about this time come alive as you connect with the people involved in your child's life and visit memorable places.
Seeing where their story took place and meeting people who were involved enables children to better identify with the first chapter of their life.
The Ties Program looks forward to learning about the connections you'd like to renew and is available to assist with these arrangements.
Our programs are staffed with an adoption social worker or specialist.
These individuals facilitate optional gatherings for kids and parents, helping The Ties Program to be the identity building experience you desire for your child and a life building experience for your family.
Traveling as a family to your child's country of birth is a life changing experience.
It fosters understanding, nurtures pride and creates memories.
